After a professional career in dance and teaching for 8 years, I decided it was time to create my own classical coaching business. As a fully qualified Royal Academy of Dance teacher and certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor, I am passionate about sharing the art of ballet and providing an encouraging and positive experience for every student. Now located in Basel, Switzerland I am offering a range of Children's Ballet Classes, Progressing Ballet Technique Masterclasses and offer private lessons both in person and online. Time to experience ballet training that inspires, challenges, and supports each dancer’s unique path. Whether you’re just beginning or working toward a professional career, I’m here to help you shine every step of the way!

These classes provide a nurturing and positive environment for young dancers. The perfect balance of fun, structure, and foundational skills to set a strong foundation for future ballet training and spark a love for dance while developing coordination, musicality, and confidence. Whether your child is dreaming of the stage or simply looking for a fun and structured activity, these classes are the perfect start!
Primary Ballet Class (6-8 years)
Fridays 15:00-16:00
Taught in a nurturing and inspiring environment, this class prepares young dancers for the next steps in their ballet journey while fostering a love for dance. Our Primary Ballet class follows the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, providing young dancers with a structured yet joyful introduction to classical ballet. Designed for children aged 6-8, this class helps develop essential skills in coordination, musicality, and expression while laying a solid technical foundation for future ballet training.
Children’s Classical Ballet Class (9+ years)
Wednesdays 17:00-18:00
Our children’s classical ballet class follows the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Grade 2-3 syllabi, designed for dancers aged 9+ who are ready to develop their technique, strength, and artistry in a structured yet inspiring environment. At this level, students refine their ballet foundations, learn more complex steps, increase coordination, and enhance musicality. These classes focus on developing grace, strength, and discipline, preparing dancers for future grades and potential examinations.
All classes are currently held in the ballet studio at Tanzstudio Formbar.

Biography
Born in Ayrshire, Scotland, Elayne discovered her passion for ballet at the age of two. She began her formal training at a local Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) school, and by age 11, earned a place at the prestigious Dance School of Scotland to pursue full-time training. Elayne consistently excelled in her RAD exams, achieving Distinction in all levels up to Advanced 2, which qualified her to compete in the esteemed Genée International Ballet Competition. She also gained valuable experience as both a junior and senior associate with Scottish Ballet.
In 2015, Elayne graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Ballet. Upon graduation, she was handpicked by the dance director of Scottish Ballet to join the company as an artist. During her time with Scottish Ballet, she toured the UK with productions of The Nutcracker and Cinderella, and performed in the Asian tour of Romeo and Juliet. After several years of performing professionally, Elayne shifted her focus towards teaching.
In 2018, Elayne earned her Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance, gaining Registered Teacher status. She also holds a Certificate in Progressing Ballet Technique and is a member of the Scottish Dance Teachers’ Alliance.
Alongside ballet, Elayne has had a successful career in competitive Highland dance, winning numerous championship titles, including the Scottish, British, and European Championships. In 2015, she joined the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Dance Company, and enjoyed performing internationally.
Elayne is deeply passionate about teaching and is dedicated to passing on her love of dance to inspire the next generation of dancers.
